EO Mini Pro 3

Overview

The EO Mini Pro 3 family includes separate single-phase and three-phase models rather than one universal electrical configuration. EO identifies the family as supporting up to 7.2 kW single-phase or 22 kW three-phase charging. Type 2 socket and 5 m tethered configurations are available. Current manufacturer information specifies a 230 x 151 x 125 mm enclosure, IP56 protection with an IP54 socket interface, and operation from -25°C to 50°C. The charger includes 6 mA DC leakage detection, while a dedicated 30 mA Type A RCD is required on the supply circuit. OCPP-based connectivity is supported. Solar charging and local automatic load management depend on CT measurement and the installed charger configuration. EO discontinued its original consumer app service and Mini Pro 3 users now use the ev.energy platform.

Best for

  • Three-phase homes where the EV can accept higher AC charging rates
  • Solar households able to install the supplied CT measurement
  • Homes needing CT-based power balancing
  • Drivers wanting either a Type 2 socket or 5 m tethered configuration
  • Installations requiring OCPP-connected smart charging

Not ideal for

  • — Single-phase homes expecting 22 kW charging
  • — Solar homes where CT measurement cannot be installed
  • — Buyers expecting the discontinued EO consumer app
  • — Buyers treating the UK single-phase open-PEN feature as an Australian three-phase installation feature

Using this charger at home in Australia

This charger supports higher AC charging speeds where both your home's electrical supply and your EV's onboard AC charger allow. Confirm your home's phase support with a licensed electrician, and check your EV's maximum AC charging capability.

Where the charger and required monitoring equipment support solar-aware charging, the system can adjust EV charging in response to available solar generation. The exact behaviour depends on the charger, metering or sensors, inverter setup and configuration.

Where supported and correctly configured, load management can reduce EV charging power when other household loads increase, helping keep total demand within the configured site limit.

OCPP support allows the charger to communicate with compatible OCPP charging-management platforms. OCPP support by itself does not guarantee integration with a home battery, solar inverter, electricity tariff or every third-party platform.

The manufacturer lists an IP65 enclosure rating for this charger. The final mounting location should follow the manufacturer's installation requirements and be confirmed by the installer.

A dedicated home EV charger should be installed by a licensed electrician. The installer should confirm the circuit design, switchboard capacity, protection requirements and any applicable local electricity-network requirements.
